Managing Director
David is a Managing Director in the Leadership Practice of CRA | Admired Leadership, a consultancy that specializes in leadership development, strategic communication, talent strategy, and custom research. He provides coaching, counsel and facilitation for senior leaders and rising stars in areas such as executive presence, time management, building influence, communication strategy, relationship building, team effectiveness, change/crises management, career growth/transition, and culture evolution.
With more than 35 years of professional experience, his career has exemplified growth and versatility as he transitioned from being an officer in the U.S. Navy to his current position as an independent director on the board of Embecta Corp. (NASDAQ: EMBC). He has also served as the President of General Motors Defense and held VP of Communications roles at Amazon Web Services, Exelis, ITT Defense, and United Way of America. His coaching clients span the aerospace & defense, automotive, beauty, education, financial services, mobility, nonprofit, retail, and technology sectors.
David is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and holds a M.S. in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School. He has also completed executive leadership programs at Harvard University and Stanford University. He received his Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University and is credentialed by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC). His is also a certified interpreter of the Hogan Assessment.
Originally from Philadelphia, he resides in the Washington, DC metro area and is married with three adult children and three grandchildren. He enjoys RV camping with his family, bass fishing, off-road Jeep/ATV adventures, mentoring young professionals, and meeting new people over many years during his travels to more than 50 countries.
