Maybel Marte is a Managing Director at BlackRock, where she leads Private Credit Product Strategy Client Engagement with a focus on the U.S. Financial Institutions Group. Ms. Marte is responsible for portfolio solutions, client servicing and product development across Life, P&C and Health insurers, as well as Public and Corporate Pensions for the Global Private Debt platform. In this capacity, she is responsible for commercializing opportunities for the Private Debt franchises, including U.S. and European Direct Lending, European Venture Debt, Global Opportunistic Credit, Real Estate Debt, Asset-Back Finance/Private Placements and Multi-Private Debt solutions.

Before leading Private Credit Client Engagement, Ms. Marte was the Head of U.S. Leveraged Finance Product Strategy within BlackRock’s Global Credit Platform. As the Senior Strategist, she focused on developing credit solutions for both institutional and retail clients, across our Bank Loans, High Yield Bonds, CLOs, as well as our multi-asset suite. In that role, she was also responsible for product development, marketing and client service.
Prior to joining BlackRock in September 2017, Ms. Marte was a Senior Vice President at PIMCO in the US Institutional Client Management Group. While at PIMCO from 2010 to 2016, Ms, Marte was responsible for servicing and marketing to large corporation pensions, multi-national agencies and non-profit organizations. As a client strategist, Ms. Marte focused on delivering customized investment solutions to institutional clients, including duration overlays/underlays, asset allocation optimization, interest rates and equity-based tail-risk hedging programs, and multi-asset credit solutions. Prior to joining PIMCO in early 2010, Ms. Marte held positions in fixed income institutional sales for over a decade at Goldman Sachs on the High Yield-Distressed Bond desk.

Ms. Marte received her Masters of Business Administration from The Wharton School and her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wellesley College. She was awarded a number of academic scholarships for her graduate and undergraduate studies, most notably the Robert Toigo Graduate Fellowship and Andrew Mellon Undergraduate Fellowship. She has served on the Board of Directors of SEO (Seizing Every Opportunity) for over 20 years; mostly recently Chaired the Scholars Program Committee. Her civic contributions have largely focused on closing the academic achievement gap for NYC public high school students. She also serves as Treasurer and Board Member of The Moth, a non-profit global storytelling platform. In her free time, Maybel enjoys attending Yankees games, hiking and spending time with her two children, Audrey and Conrad and their new puppy.
